Quantum, China & US Strategy With Kevin Kane
The National Security Hour with Edward Haugland – What is quantum computing, and why should Americans care? What are the implications for America and the world’s security if China wins the quantum computing race? What should the U.S. strategy do to advance quantum computing and ensure the resilience and security of our republic?
The National Security Hour with Edward Haugland talks with Kevin Kane, the CEO of Ambit Inc., as they discuss Quantum computing and its implications for national security, what China is doing in this area and why we should be concerned, and the implications for the U.S. National Security Strategy and the ongoing global Cognitive War.
Mr. Kane provides unique insight, and expertise, and gives us his perspective, in this American Patriots series interview, on Quantum computing as we address three key questions:
> What is quantum computing, and why should Americans care?
> What are the implications for America and the world’s security if China wins the quantum computing race?
> What should the U.S. strategy do to advance quantum computing and ensure the resilience and security of our republic?
In 2019 Kevin Kane co-founded Ambit, Inc. dba American Binary — a network infrastructure and encryption company. Kevin previously founded Jumpgate Technologies Ltd., a machine learning-driven systematic equity L/S hedge fund manager trading with approximately 40 million USD in capital. Kevin also founded Automata Ltd., and Claro Automata, LLC–a Cayman Investment Manager and Semantic Analysis technology firm, respectively. Claro Automata’s team was acquired by Rotella Capital Management to head their machine learning-driven global macro and futures strategies. Rotella was a (give or take) 27-year track record CTA/hedge fund manager that later shifted to become a financial services technology company re-branded with his core team founding that transition. Prior to starting companies, Kevin worked in technology advisory and scouting with Lux Research, leading their South Korea business development effort. Kevin speaks (with native pronunciation), reads, and writes the Korean language.
Kevin began his career in the United States Army JAG Corps, where he led legal teams in the 101st Air Born, Air Assault, Division, 2nd Infantry Division, 8th U.S. Army, and 3rd Infantry Division. With JAG, he worked on criminal prosecution, war crimes, and lastly with legal claims during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Kevin possesses a B.A. in Political Science from Georgia State University and an M.A. in International Studies (I.R. Theory) from Seoul National University. Kevin’s academic research on energy economics, oil markets, geopolitics, and I.R. theory is cited in numerous books and journals. While a student, Kevin served internships at the Carter Center, where he met former U.S. President Carter, and at the then Kissinger McLarty Associates, where his work made it to Thomas McLarty and Henry Kissinger. Kevin’s hobbies include writing about sentience and cognition, identity formation and cognitive warfare, great power politics and game theory, and poetry.
