Who's Controlling the Media and Your Mind?

Who's Controlling the Media and Your Mind?

Who’s controlling the media and your mind - America Out Loud News LISTEN!!

I often speak of the Cognitive Domain – the most critical domain in any war – as it is the domain of the human mind. The mind can be compromised by propaganda, disinformation, and the control and manipulation of information. We see and hear such assaults on our minds daily – whether via the mainstream media (Wash Post, NY Times, Fox News, CNN) or on digital media (e.g., TikTok, Google, LinkedIn, etc.) where it is hard to discern fact from fiction, fiction from fact. While there is some level of bias regardless of the source of information, the radical left takes it to extremes in their quest for absolute power.

The radical left understands that controlling the information you receive is key to indoctrinating you, to lulling you into complacency, and as Yuri Bezmenov warned, walks us through the four stages of subjugation (see page 97 of my book “The Cognitive War – Why We Are Losing and How We can Win.”  It began with the Demoralization of America, which occurred over the last several decades. Destabilization came next and accelerated over the last 12 years as we concurrently ramped up to a man-made Crisis with the objective of Normalizing our subjugation. I write about this in my book, the Cognitive War, and the four stages of subjugation that Mr. Bezmenov noted are not just about communism. Communism is but one ideology of many used to subjugate. In addition to ideologies, the radical left religion uses various issues in their demented distortion of information to advance their influence.

You alone, every citizen, are the primary means to counter, protect, and advance the truth – but to do so, you must undertake critical thinking and apply it to media and other information, no matter the source. In a prior episode, I spoke about how our education system is being used to indoctrinate our youth and prepare them for an insurrection. I spoke of the definition of Indoctrination – according to the Cambridge dictionary, it is defined as: “the process of repeating an idea or belief to someone until they accept it without criticism or question. It covers religious/political/ideological indoctrination, and as the definition notes – The lasting effect of indoctrination should not be exaggerated.”

Our adversaries, domestic and globally, understand this all too well, as we see their lies, fiction, propaganda, and disinformation repeated repeatedly – until it becomes the truth! Our once free press, formerly referred to as the Fourth Estate, intended to ensure oversight and challenge our government, is no longer an ally in freedom, as it is now a fifth column used to bludgeon us in concert with adversaries of freedom to subvert our nation and transform it from a free and independent Republic into a shell of subjugation that mimics China, Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, South Africa, Russia, and other despot nations.

We must understand who controls the media (print, digital, television), how it’s being used to control your mind – with the underlying intent to advance control of the narrative, information, on a path to subjugation. To stop their efforts, we must retake the high ground, educate Americans to discern fact from fiction, use critical thinking to understand and discern the truth from the mass of disinformation, and concurrently ensure accountability. We need to call out the so-called ‘free press’ when we see or hear their bias and when we see them serving as propaganda whores for the radical left. We must speak truth to power and confront such evil head-on – not letting them get away with their deception and lies.

So, let’s begin with a few definitions – to set a foundation upon which to build.

Critical Thinking – Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines critical thinking as 1- the act or practice of thinking critically (as by applying reason and questioning assumptions) in order to solve problems, evaluate information, discern biases, etc.” And 2 – the skills, methods, etc., are involved in critical thinking. Media literacy enlivens how our schools teach critical thinking by serving as a bridge between the classroom and the world in which our young people live most of their waking lives.

Media literacy – as defined by Dictionary.com, is – “the ability or skills to critically analyze for accuracy, credibility, or evidence of bias the content created and consumed in various media, including radio and television, the internet, and social media.”

Now why is this topic so important? In my book on Cognitive Warfare, I introduced the Theory of Information Equilibrium. Understanding this theory and how to apply it is absolutely critical if we are to ensure the defense of the cognitive domain and understand when we must apply it and go on offense against those who seek to deceive and subjugate us.

I define the Concept of Information Equilibrium as The transfer of knowledge through the use of information-based sources, technologies, and services, which leads to an eventual equilibrium of the world’s social, political, and economic situations. Such an equilibrium is based upon the involvement of the public, private, and non-profit sectors. I use the words knowledge and information on purpose. Much information can be passed on, but it is the formation of the information into useful concepts, ideas, or actions that denotes actual knowledge. The base concept suggests that if one strives for the greatest access and distribution of information throughout the world by all peoples, the eventual result will be the transfusion of knowledge and ideas such that the world’s general economic, social, and political development will move toward an equilibrium. In the simplest of terms, the

Theory of the Information Equilibrium proffers that the balance between societies that advance/advocate for freedom, opportunity, democracy, individual rights, and those that advance dictatorships, tyranny, autocracies, etc. lay in either the flow or constriction of information in line with the Concept of the Information Equilibrium. (pages 194-195, The Cognitive War).

The more open the flow, the more the equilibrium will shift towards democracy and freedom; the more constricted the flow of information, the more the balance will shift towards dictatorships, despots, theocracies, etc.

There is a paradox in the battle for humanity in the competing ideologies that either advance the good of mankind or advance the means to control mankind. This theory attempts to boil that complexity into its most simple form. This millennia-plus battle occurs between good and evil, where good is exemplified by freedom and evil by subjugation. The theory advances a means to understand better the shifting of the equilibrium over thousands of years. The advance of our societies from the agrarian to industrial to the information age and beyond was made possible by the flow or constriction of information in line with this theory – but the speed of that flow or constriction is now greatly enhanced by technological advances.

It is important to understand the Theory of Information Equilibrium, as it establishes the basis for operating in the cognitive domain, competing in the cognitive war, advancing media literacy, and controlling one’s own mind! It is the basis for ending the assault on one’s mind and the radical left’s intended subjugation.

You can learn more about Cognitive Warfare, the problem, theory, analysis, operations, strategy, and solutions by reading Mr. Haugland’s just released book “The Cognitive War – Why We Are Losing and How We can Win.”
