Diagnosing Tyranny - The Global threat Dictators and Terrorists

The Cognitive War

In this episode of the National Security Hour, we are honored to welcome back Dr. Franco Musio as we discuss his diagnosis of Tyranny – as we look to understand terrorists and dictators. We discuss his diagnosis of them in the context of our global adversaries in this ongoing Cognitive War – as we hear his medical and personal perspective on this topic. He discusses the Neurobiology and Neuroscience underlying Radicalization and Terrorism, The Psychopathology of Dictators, and The Commonality and Relationship(s) between them.

The Cognitive War is a war that few are aware of or understand. It is a war that is taking place domestically and globally. We see this war being conducted every day, but few realize it is a planned and coordinated effort. We watch the confusion, chaos, and terror here on our streets in America and watch our adversaries like China and Russia continually outmaneuver us, cause us to react, react, react – and lead us by our noses to a future they’re defining for us. These enemies – both foreign and domestic – leverage a similar strategy to drive us towards subjugation. Their coordinated strategy uses various ways – ideology, religion, or issues and a litany of means – education, military, economic, etc. to replace our freedoms with tyranny and subjugation. It is in its most basic form – it is a war between good and evil, freedom or subjugation. To provide a warning not only to America but also to our allies and help others understand the fuller scope of this war and how we can win– Mr. Haugland wrote “The Cognitive War – Why We Are Losing and How We can Win”.

The key is first to understand and define the problem. This segment highlights the basic problem as it relates to our primary adversaries in the global cognitive war. Dr. Musio and I cover three broader areas:

  • UNDERSTANDING- what is the mental biology and anatomy of dictators and their proxy terrorists, given the tight relationships with Iran, Russia, China, Pakistan, etc?
  • COMMONALITY – What are the common traits and objectives of terrorists and dictators like Xi, Putin, Ali Khamenei, and – as we see him moving closer to them a man like Erdogan?
  • WEAKNESSES – what are the inherent weaknesses of the regimes of Xi, Putin, Ali Khamenei, and Erdogan?

Dr. Franco Musio is a well-known internal medicine physician specializing in the field of nephrology (kidney diseases). He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine – Inova Fairfax campus in Northern Virginia and enjoys teaching, lecturing, writing, martial arts, and consulting and caring for complex patients.
