The World's Thirst for Democracy is Expanding
More people around the world are expressing their desire for
Democracy and Freedom over Despots and Tyranny. That’s the good
news.
The bad news is that the greatest
threat to democracy is not from external forces and actors, but from
internal elements who use the ‘tools and institutions’ of our democracy to
deceive, spread propaganda, and undermine the vary institutions they profess to
protect.
We
face challenges to our democracy and freedoms, from foreign actors, but also
from domestic elements. In both instances, it is a cognitive war – a war of
ideologies. While the world’s people are
seeking their freedoms and democracy, ours is threatened in our homeland, by
those who should be the champions of freedom.
The balance of the Information
Equilibrium © is shifting towards freedom and
democracy, but sustaining this course requires continued vigilance and a
long-term strategy to compete in the Cognitive Domain. While prior years
saw deafening silence during uprisings for freedom like the Arab Spring, there
are promising signs that democracy and desire for freedom are rising.
First and foremost is that the US has stopped apologizing. We
are holding to account complacent allies to demonstrate they are ready to
uphold treaties to protect freedom. We
are challenging despot regimes, who steal or threaten us both cognitively and
kinetic. We are achieving success not
via incessant and perpetual wars, but via economic, policy and other
non-kinetic means. And, we are
advocating for those freedom fighters in countries like Hong Kong – who seek to
hold onto their freedoms and democracy.
However,
there are challenges we face in our own democratic republic. Here in the US, what used to be a free press,
has mostly become a group of cheerleaders for socialism and subjugation of the
majority by a minority. The American
people see this, and polls showing trust in media declining rapidly speak to
this. Yet
our press looks to blame our president for the decline in trust, rather than
looking at themselves. The decline
of our press is reflected in the movement of the American people to alternative
sources of news.
A
major ideological battle is taking place in the USA. On one side are the American people, on the
other a so called ‘free press’ laden with ever increasing socialist tendencies that
are exemplified by a willingness to lie, deceive and spread propaganda. Are all our press this way – thank goodness
no. But the majority of our press have
major issues with credibility and the truth.
Left unchecked, major elements of our press threaten to bring darkness
to our democracy.
A press that used to investigate and advocate for truth, freedom
and democracy – now regularly advocates the failed policies of socialism and
communism. They hold parties celebrating an impeachment and coup attempt
against our president.
They celebrate those who undertook that coup, even hiring the
miscreants as key spokesman.
Our press spent the last three plus years spreading lies and
fostering rabid attacks and smears of “collusion” against our president without
facts – only fictional wishes.
Unfortunately, they were aided and abetted by members of congress, who
made up their own false narratives, proclaimed they had “evidence” of collusion
with foreign states, only for the American people to find they were lying. Those who took an oath to uphold and defend
our constitution – ended up abusing it and undermining it like no other period
in American history.
Where else, except in a banana republic, does one see the coup
plotters hired as “free press” advocates?
Where else do we find those fired for cause – for corruption, lies and leaks and abuse of our most
trusted national security institutions to support their political ends – being hired
to pontificate on the truth? We can see
them regularly on networks, writing in papers, and speaking at forums – the miscreants
of democracy continue to spread lies and their propaganda, and do so to deceive
and cover up the underlying domestic cognitive war – a war of ideology – that portends
to reshape America into a socialist state.
Hyperbole? No.
Our
domestic cognitive war is exemplified by those in
the so called “free press” that profess to support democracy, yet use it to
shield their personal political biases and put out propaganda.
The following is but one simple example. In this case the author hides behind the rise
of freedom and democracy to not only attack our president, but to condemn him
as an authoritarian monster threatening our “free press.” At least, in this case, the article is an
opinion column. The author who writes
The pivotal
contest is taking place in the United States, the country whose deep democratic
roots make it well-equipped to defy the authoritarian trend. The United States
remains a vigorous democracy, but it, too, is one of the nations where
democracy, according to Freedom House, “has weakened significantly, thanks in part to a president who launches
incessant attacks “on the rule of law, fact-based journalism, and other
principles and norms of democracy.[1]"
This reporter blames Trump. They are wrong. Authors such as this one, and the others of
our so called “free press,” rather than blaming Trump for calling out their
biases, propaganda and lies would do well to find a mirror – as it would to be more
enlightening in showing from where the greatest authoritarianism and threats to
democracy emanate.
Our ‘free press’ – so called purveyors of “truth” are the same press
that applauded:
- Prior administration’s failed policies with Russia, China
- When a terrorist nation Iran was handed billions in cash and signed a nuclear deal that was a joke
- Democratic candidates calling for forced confiscation of guns, destruction of your 2nd amendment rights
- Attacks and defamation of innocent high school kids because they wore hats supporting our president, while failing to call out the real harassers and bigots
- Democratic candidates promoting socialist policies that would not only bankrupt America, but destroy our capitalist society and health care system
- Open border policies that would allow mass illegal immigration, flow of drugs and criminals, while subverting and disenfranchising the American voters
- Attacks against police while also demonizing our Department of Homeland’s federal police of ICE and CBP
American’s are waking up, as are an ever increasing portion of
the world, to fight for, speak out, and promote freedom and democracy.
America is once again that shining light of freedom on the
hill. America is once again
respected. America is leading by example
in showing the benefits and opportunities that democracy and freedom
bring. And our free press is rather upset,
because American’s are believing their lying eyes vice what they find in
print.

God Bless America and the power
of truth, the pen and desire for freedom.
